Wixom, MI, USA – EJOT Fastening Systems LP was named a 2020 Automotive News PACE Award winner at an awards ceremony on April 28. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the awards were presented online. The prestigious award recognizes automotive suppliers for superior innovation, technological advancement and business performance.
EJOT Fastening Systems was recognized for its EJOWELD® technology. This innovation encompasses the development of a thermo-mechanical joining process, Friction Element Welding, for energy-efficient joining of a light alloy to an ultra-high-strength steel. The technology encompasses the joining process, the manufacturing of elements, and the fully-automatic robot-compatible joining machine. The benefits of EJOWELD® have been recognized by customers on a global scale with EJOWELD® being featured on vehicles such as the AUDI Q7, AUDI A8, AUDI E-Tron, Porsche 911, and more recently, the new FORD Explorer.
Edward Plomer, President & Managing Director EJOT LP; along with Christian Kocherscheidt, CEO EJOT GmbH in Germany, would like to thank Automotive News for this prestigious award. As we joined virtually with our colleagues around the world today to watch the online presentation it became apparent of how important it is to have a dedicated team to bring forth game-changing technology.
